Ultimate shoulder rides

Up until the 70s, there was a tradition in soccer for the captain of a winning cup team to be held aloft with the trophy on the shoulders of two teammates and, very occasionally, by one teammate only.  MoM never did anything for me so I was not interested.  However, when women's soccer got going I was intrigued to see if the same tradition would prevail amongst the girls.  To my surprise and delight it did, and in the few examples I saw, the captain would be lifted on the shoulders of one girl rather than two.  Maybe there was thought to be something unfeminine about a girl 'spreading her legs' so to speak, to be lifted between two teammates.  I witnessed three or four such examples in still photographs in newspapers, but the best by a long way was a video report on a London TV station's local news programme.  A really strapping dark skinned centre back who was, I seem to remember, a policewoman  (women players were all amateur in those days), was being bounced up and down on the shoulders of a significantly smaller tomboyish red head with a face absolutely smothered in freckles. The rider's big thighs almost dwarfed her mount's head. In those days the girl players, like the men wore very short shorts which, in the women's case, were very tight.  It was very, very erotic.  It came and went so quickly that by the time I realised what I was looking at they had cut away to an interview with the (male) coach. The scene lasted only about ten or fifteen seconds but I remember it in great detail to this day.  I don't suppose anyone else here in the UK remembers it?  The practice stopped in the men's game as players became an evermore expensive commodity and professional team's became unwilling to see their players risk injury in needless celebrations.  Unfortunately, the women seem to have followed suit and all we get nowadays is the winning team posing with the cup in front of a sponser's hoarding.  I have searched the net for some pics of women's soccer shoulder rides but without success.
Anyone else remember any similar episdoes?
There was a TV documentary on a few years ago about the Doncaster Belles women's team which followed them on their night out after a cup win.  There is a short scene in which two players are riding on two other girl's shoulders on the dance floor but, again, it is sadly very brief and a bit dark.

How could we encourage the old shoulder ride celebrations to come back?
