I love feeling the inner thighs of my rider touching my neck and face. She loves rubbing herself off on my neck. Period.
But let's say it: for any longer ride, a shoulder saddle would be just great! It would turn shoulder riding from a "game" into... a sport!! ![]()
First and most important: the ride would be much more comfortable for her. If she simply straddles my shoulders, she will sit on her upper thighs with her bottom hanging at the back. It's uncomfortable and precarious in the long run.
Second: more comfortable for the slave too, thanks to better weight distribution and less pressure on the neck. Less important than the rider's comfort, but it would allow for longer rides.
I've been looking for the perfect shoulder saddle for years. Does anybody else have the same desire?
A good one is featured in this old clip: www.fetish-film.ch/Deutsch/Gallery_Trailers/Monic/R … riding_1.wmv.
But I can't find it anywhere and it's perhaps a little too large at the front, where it completely shields the mount's neck. Those designed for both all-fours and shoulder riding are way too bulky. I'd like a discreet saddle, just to provide support for the rider's bottom and perhaps some cushioning on the mount's shoulders.
What would your ideal shoulder saddle look like?
Do you know of a good one available out there?

I love the stirrups. I think stirrups would help give the rider more stability and more control (since they would be free to use their feet for both balance and "encouragement".) I sort of think that this is too much of a saddle, though. And while it would be nice for long rides, it seems like it takes a lot of the "contact" feel. This one appears to work pretty well, (and it looks hot!) but it seems like it's difficult to get a saddle to fit right on the mount, and not slide around or put the center of gravity in a difficult place. I've been considering using straps over the shoulders to support stirrups, along with a couple of cross-straps to keep them from slipping. That would allow the use of stirrups without a complicated saddle arrangement. I agree, though, that a little assistance in distributing the rider's weight over a broader area of the mount would be more comfortable for both rider and mount.

I have used a backpack, with a foam mattress rolled on top of it. I was told it gave a great comfort, for the reasons mentioned by Centaur, i.e a truely SITTING position as opposed to the usual "on upper thighs" position. It is also possible to fix stirrups on that backpack. And of course, if you rider's plans are to go for a 100 miles ride in the Rocky mountains, the backpack will be just fine for Her sleeping-bag, clothes, vanity-case, food, wine ....
I'm just dreaming, I know ! ![]()

I fully agree on the importance of stirrups. They also help in the use of the most exciting tool of all: spurs. Oh... the power they can give to the subtle movement of a couple of pretty feet...
The backpack experience is interesting too. I just wonder whether the straps would give any discomfort to the rider's tights. Of course I would love to let my rider load me with whatever she wants to carry around, before adding her own weight astride me! A multi-day trip as beast of burden? Yes, that's quite a dream!

@CENTAUR
Backpack straps usually have a consistent width, and they are padded. This is designed that way for the carrier's comfort, but it also works for the rider, I suppose. Anyway, I never had any complaint abouth these straps. Maybe, it could be a slight problem in a multi-day ride ??? ![]()
