Providing and Enabling Contact Information like email

This seems fairly obvious, but if you don't provide any information about how to be contacted and enable it to be used, then no one is going to be able to contact you.  For most members on this site, when you go to their information page and click "send e-mail", you get an error message.  My guess is that either most users haven't entered their email address, or they haven't configured the privacy settings to allow email.
It would be great if one of the admins could reply with how you need to configure the settings to enable emails, and how to test that it is configured properly.  But in any case, if you don't want to miss out on opportunities to ride or be ridden by new members or the occasional visitor-from-out-of-town who has done a couple searches for your town name and discovered one of your posts, then I'd recommend checking your settings.  They're under "Profile", and probably include "Essentials", "Privacy" and "Messaging".
Sorry for the "meta" post, but I think this issue needs visibility.

I agree....

Why don't more people allow their e-mail address to be available.....

The whole point of this web site is to enable us all to meet up with one another.....

Come on guys, let's talk........

... and will members please state where they live too! Tell us the country where you live and the area of the country as well if it is a big country like India or the USA. I, also, have had problems when clicking on a member's email address and getting no result. Thanks for raising this issue.

Re: Providing and Enabling Contact Information like email

Agreed!
Midlandsguy uses the "jabber" field under "Profile" > "Messaging" to add some information about where he lives.  I think that's a great idea so am doing so as well, as there isn't really any "right" place in the profile to add this and since I also don't use jabber.
(Obviously a post about where one lives and one's interests in is the best way to get people's attention as well.)

I agree entirely-on your profile you should put all the information that is required of you-if you don't what is the point of being on the site-we are better off without you

Lets have more personal info please

They're under "Profile", and probably include "Essentials", "Privacy" and "Messaging".

1) All members must enter their email address when joining this site. Most of our members probably just forget to update their profile.

2 and 3) If you want other members to see your email address, click on "Profile" and then chose "Privacy". Then check the first box (Display your e-mail address).

If you have face problems doing this, then please feel free to ask for help in the "Technical support" section.
