This could be a movie for perfect riding lessons.
As I told you before, I know Mistress Bijou quite well, you should know that she is an outstanding good rider of horses and so she knows all the lessons which are used by the training f horses.
In this very special case she was riding all those fine lessons, which have to be ridden with real horses.
Watching this fine piece of movie I only can tell you that it is for every real riding fan an extreme pleasure to watch how fine she is rulig her human horse.
And I see also a very big difference between an experienced rider and a non-experienced rider.
Experienced riders know and feel very well how to handle a human horse because they do not just on your shoulders. A good rider will always make the rules for the huma horse and tell her human horse how she wants to have any little step you do.
This movie could be a fine example for all womem who intend to start human riding.

I agree with all what you say about Mistress Bijou, and Her fine riding style! However, I would disagree on one point : It would be far better if She could obtain all what She wished from Her horse without telling him what he is supposed to do : Equestriennes obtain what they want from their REAL horses wihout uttering one single word! Why not the same with men, supposedly more clever than animals ?!! 
I wrote tentative rules of riding for human horses which are aiming at making this riding style possible, and I'm sure men should be able to learn them within a few hours of training. These rules are designed for riding on all four but could be easily adapted to SR.
When both "horses" and riders know these rules, they can play dressage games, which are, imo, THE acme of human riding: Dressage is ridden on a pre-established course ( un parcours, in French ), with obstacles, and a number of assigned figures ( u-turn, eight, side walk, ...etc ). ONE KEY POINT : The horse is BLINDFOLDED, or else he would know what he has to do just by visualizing the course !!
The rider isn't allowed to speak to his mount, nor to set foot on ground during the competition. Penalties are given for mistakes. A handicap rule is applied to give all teams a fair chance, offsetting the weight differential between the horses and the riders : A 75 kg horse with a 100 kg rider will be given a positive handicap which will allow him to fairly compete with a 75 kg horse mounted by a 50 kg rider. Moreover a positive "gender" handicap" should be granted to the teams in which the rider is a male and the horse, a female.
The evaluation of the course, is based on the following formula :
[( Time + or - Handicap points)(handicap figure)]
The winner of the dressage is the one obtaining the smallest figure in that formula.

Dear Equidum,
you are absolutely right in regard of verbal commands by he rider. I am doing since a very long time this kind of dressage as a human horse and I therefore know very well that it is quite difficult for most riders to avoid any verbal command.
Being a human horse you have to know exactly all non-verbal commands and as a human horse you only can be that good as your rider is able to give commands.
So you need an extremely experienced rider who knows very well how to give her commands to her human horse.
For both sides this need an extremely high standard of concentration.
This way I could imagine quite fine competitions where riders and their human horses can compete and show their abilities.
Perhaps some day this will be as normal as a quite usual riding competition with horses.
Ponyplay I was always considering as a method of extreme corporal training for myself and so since a long time I only carry ladies who are real experienced riders.
Too often I had ladies on my shoulders and neck who were sitting there just like a wet sack.
Riding means much more than only sitting on the shoulders of someone.
But your idea of competions seems to mevery fine.
