Hi, I'm relativly new in this community, I'm from Slovakia (central Europe) and I was wondering if some of you ppl are somewhere from this area

Well, my experience are not that big, as i am quite new in this, i mean, some concerts, camps, pools, but in this location are not so many shoulder riding actions i think And as a university student i dont have time, but especially money to travel really far

So if there are people here who really want to meet I'd suggest an outdoor event such as the Donauinselfest in Vienna, Austria. I already described that festival to be free of charge with several bigger and smaller stages and over 2 million people visiting it during the three day weekend. Always a nice opportunity for shoulder riding. Next year it will be 5th to 7th of September 2008.  So there would be enough time for planning a meeting.

Uuuuu, that sounds really interesting, i agree, it's really a great idea to do it during some bigger event. And Vienna is a great place not so far from any country in central Europe. If there will be some kind of action, count me in If i can be any help, glad to be

If we can agree on meeting in Vienna, Austria for the festival "Donauinselfest" in September 2008 I believe I can help with the organization (like booking accommodation, organizing meeting points and dates etc.).
Anyone who is interested in getting together there at that festival is more than welcome. Of course we NEED also females to come so I can only suggest to anyone here who is female and can somehow afford to join us or anyone who knows females who would be interested to go to a festival with lot's of good music and different styles - take this in serious account. Could it be that you guys know females who have been on shoulders on concerts or like to be lifted this way in other opportunities as well - if you know such girls try to convince them to get with you to that festival.
So if this idea sounds good to you respectively if you have any questions, let me know.

I live in Germany (Southern part) and I think most of the members come from the US.
It is quite hard to find girls or ladies for a real meeting.
I find my riders usually in riding clubs where we know each other and if the ladies and girls know me, it is mostly not very difficult to ask them for a ride.
Only via net I do not think that you will find riders.

You have your opinion on the better place. I have mine.

I have heard an ugly rumor that Hyde Park is the one place allowed in England where one may curse the Queen.  Disrespect our women you disrespect us all. Disrespect their women you disrespect them all.  If I could get there I would want to participate in any activity including shoulder riding where the Queen and all ladies are treated with respect.

Yes Sam- I think that we all realize that distance is the problem
looks to me that the meetings will have to localized.
Sort of  USA Parts of perhaps
            Germany & north Europe
            Italy S.europe
            UK & norway Sweden

Yes, right now the fanzones in Austria (or Svitzerland as well) are ideal for shoulder riding fans! Whoever would come to the final of the Euro 2008 Soccer Championships in Vienna we could quickly make up something to meet there. The other occasion I was talking about is the biggest open air festival (also in Vienna) in Middle Europe (or even in all Europe) which will be on the first weekend in September this year.
So anyone who can make it to Austria and is interested to meet should let me know.
Other than that I agree that members can meet at different places of course like how mastadon suggested. I can only emphasize not to be shy or lazy and "just do it". No matter who takes the first step, someone has to do it or otherwise we just talk about it.

Mastadon: I really admire you for your shoulder riding experiences, you are a lucky man and still know how to enjoy life obviously. Tell us please why exactly you suggest the Hyde Park for September 2012??

Hello Everyone!

I just checked now this topic and have found interesting. Well, not enough to talk about wish to meet eachother, we have to do for this. Here is the end of the summer a chance flied away but......... Let's see forward! We have 12 mounths to prepare ourselves for a meeting if we want it in earnest! I mean to accumlate enough money, to plan holiday or free time, etc.
My idea: Riding meeting. I think about only a weekend at first. You can say the travelling expenses are too much for just a weekend, but the "Womancarry championship" is only a weekend (if I know well), and every beginings are hard!
I heard about a place what could be right for the first event. This place is in Polland. The link:

Unfortunately I can't understand polish so I can't translate neither a word, but one of my polish college said the accomodation-price is only 5Ł a night!!!!!!!!!!!! Incredible! Well, it is easy to travel to there from Europe (by Easyjet, Ryanair, any cheap airlines for about 50-100Ł returnticket) and expensive for the americans. It's true, but we could go to overside a year after! Some days ago I have found an advertisment: 6 days in Toronto in hotel accomodation for 600Ł. I think so can be found any kind of good solutions for just a weekend in North-America as well!
The meeting.
Unfortunately there are few female members among us but possible to find some more girl during this year. No problem if they will be only 6-8. After the a arrival they will get own team from the males by raffle. After this they can ride neverending time because the teammembers can change eachother if somebody got tired,
We have to find out many funy races, games, relays (like in the movie "Zuma beach", chicken fight, etc) and the winner rider can get some kind of reminder value prize at the end of this event. This is my idea.
