Shoulder riding - is more of a men thing?

Is it me, or is shoulder riding not really something typically liked from women? I almost never see a woman riding on another guy's shoulders in public. It's mostly a guy on another guy - whether it's friends fooling around; in concerts; or in sports when the winner guy gets picked up.

Of all the shoulder rides I've seen, at least 90% of the time, it is female on male.

Re: Shoulder riding - is more of a men thing?

I'm not sure where you live B0xerz but here in Canada over the years, I have seen hundreds of women riding men for various reasons. Whether it's to get a better view at a parade or concert or even street performance, or whether they simply want a ride to the car because their feet are sore after dancing all night, I see them riding quite often. I have even seen women sitting on a guy's shoulders while waiting in a long line-up. I guess they got tired of standing.

I remember once visiting a friend and looking out the window to see a girl riding a guy on the street as they passed by the window. She was reading a book and he was dressed in a jogging suit. It appeared that he had convinced her to help him get fit and ride him for as long as he could manage it. She simply sat on him reading her book that was resting on top of his head while he carried her for as long as possible. They continued down the street and out of sight so I'm not sure how long he carried her. I will never forget that image in my mind because it really excited me to see it.

I have seen lots of riding at the beach, at our zoo, at our bird sanctuary, at Granville Island street performances and even on some of our hiking trails out here. I think a lot of it has to do with going to events or places where shoulder riding could be a possibility. If you were to go to Buckingham Palace everyday, you would probably see shoulder riding every day during the ceremony when they change the guards. If a person spends all there time in a pool hall, they won't likely see much shoulder riding in their lives.

Anyway, in answer to your question, I have found that almost any woman I carried, LOVED being carried. They definitely like it a lot and if the situation is conducive to it, they want more rides when I see them again, except for the few who might be scared of heights.

it's been a few years since I recall someone mentioning Buckingham Palace...

the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace in the months of May and June is a GREAT time and place to see wom shoulder riding, and perhaps (if you are lucky!) give a ride...

Men are the symbol of Power and Domination. Shoulder riding is an activity in which both power and domination is involved. So, it is mostly a men thing, either WoM or MoM.

And men feel more comfortable with men but women are a little hesitated about this. So. Men on men is most enjoyable and comfortable group. (from my view).

Re: Shoulder riding - is more of a men thing?

A few years ago I exchanged emails with a guy who lives in Preston, Lancashire, England, UK, and he told me that he and his wife used to meet up with another married couple at weekends on a regular basis and their wives used to spend the day shoulder-riding the husbands in turn. He said he loved these get-togethers and used to look forward to them all week. His wife (and the other couple felt the same). The point here, I think, is that females do make good dominant shoulder-riders if they have the opportunity and the conditions are right.

As a male shoulder-rider who rides regularly, I automatically ride my pony-guy in a fairly dominant manner, i.e. I take charge of him in the same way as an experience jockey takes charge of his horse and rides the horse - which is what the horse is for, of course (as far as humans are concerned, anyway. Horses are beasts of burden which we humans ride for pleasure and profit.) As soon as I slip astride my pony-guy's shoulders, he has to do what I want, i.e. I'm in charge of him. So that means (obviously) being dominant which means, in turn, enjoying the ride astride his shoulders which includes feeling him taking my weight and giving me the pleasure and thrills I want.

We must remember that we have at least two good dominant female shoulder-riders in the community: passion and MissP. I think both these female riders could/would ride dominantly on a guy's shoulders. That is the way most pony-guys would want to be ridden.

That's because men shoulder-ride other men mostly in private (except for very young guys, of course, who ride each other as horseplay).

As a woman, I'd try it. Perhaps knowing what it's like to be the 'mount', would also give me some perspective as the rider. But I'd want to swap rides, ie I get to be the pony too.

Re: Shoulder riding - is more of a men thing?

I would guess that if some women, i.e. feminists, saw widefiregirl being shoulder-rode by a guy, they'd be outraged. That could be a problem if the shoulder-ride was done in public.

Re: Shoulder riding - is more of a men thing?

If I was carrying Gregoryan... he has a gentle look to him and I would say I was using him for exercise. He'd like that! But I doubt most people would bother saying anything about a SR here in Australia!

Hmm if someone didn't look as gentle, or were riding 'dominantly'... well, I still think a feminist would have to really feel strongly to bother coming up to say something!
